Nana's Kitchen

So, a friend of mine has a birthday coming up! And she has mentioned that she wants something that says "Nana" on it..."Nana's something or other..." ya know? So like any good crafty friend would do, I decided to make her one. I found a cutting board at my local GW for like $1. And of course I forgot to take a before picture! But it's just your everyday run of the mill cutting board.

I first painted it black because it would look great on her red walls! But, I forgot that I didn't have any white tracing/carbon paper! Therefore I decide to paint over that with an almond color and sanded the edges to expose the black. Turned out pretty cool...as if I planned it...I mean, yeah, I planned it this way because I knew it would look great! Lol, ok not really. Anywho, I printed out my words on computer paper, stuck the carbon paper under it and traced over the words with a pencil. It didn't show up very well for some reason, so I went over it again with a pen. This time it looked better. I painted it in black and.........................

Here she is! I think it's still missing something. It looks a little plain to me. But I'm going to put ribbon at the top. I'm hoping that once I do that it will look better. If not, I may have to paint something at the bottom....some kinda cute swirly thing. (Boy have I got a way with words today!)
Haha! Maybe it could use some fabric flowers at the bottom? I like sticking those on everything!

Well, that's all I've got for now. I've been super busy with another painting project but it's not finished so you'll have to wait for that one!

Oh and Melissa, if you're reading this...sorry to have spoiled your bday surprise.....Happy Birthday!! Muahh hugs n kisses and lotsa love and blessed wishes!
